Data deletion
Deleting
your data.
Effective 27 October 2026.
Deleting your account
In Apara, open Settings › Account and choose Delete account…. That removes your email address, your sign-in sessions, your registered Macs, your plan record and your email choices from our service. You can also write to hello@apara.dev from the address on the account and we will do it for you. If you have an active paid subscription, cancel it first.
A few records are kept after deletion, for the reasons and as described in the privacy policy: one-way fingerprints used so a free trial cannot be repeated, and an audit log of administrative actions on accounts.
Compatibility reports
Compatibility reports are not active yet and nothing is sent today. When they are, they will carry no account and no device identifier, so no record will be linkable to you; the privacy policy lists every field. You will be able to turn them off in Apara’s Settings.
Deleting Apara’s data from your Mac
Everything Apara stores lives on your own machine. To remove it, quit Apara and delete these, then move the application itself to the Trash:
~/Library/Application Support/Apara/— everything Apara keeps: your library, the bottles and prefixes it created for your programs, imported cover art, downloaded runtime components and dependencies, and kept logs~/Library/Preferences/dev.apara.Apara.plist— application preferences, including the telemetry setting~/Library/Caches/Apara/— downloaded store installers- In Keychain Access, the items named
dev.apara.Apara.account— your sign-in session and access key. Deleting your account in Apara first removes them from our service; deleting them here only signs this Mac out.
Windows programs you installed through Apara live in the prefixes Apara created for them, inside the folder above, so deleting it removes them too. Anything you installed elsewhere yourself is yours to remove.
If you have written to us
If you emailed hello@apara.dev, that correspondence sits in an ordinary mailbox. Ask us to delete it and we will.
